We are pleased to work with Milwaukee Health Services, Inc., in holding sleep apnea screenings in Milwaukee’s inner city.  Milwaukee Health Services, Inc. (MHSI) is a Federally Qualified Health Center. It offers a range of primary care services including physician, dental, behavioral, benefit determination, Early Intervention Program and pharmacy.  The Federally Qualified Health Center services everyone regardless of income or third party coverage, and seek to provide high quality care in accessible locations and at convenient times.  MHSI’s sites primarily target the residents of Milwaukee’s north side, but service patients from all over the county.

The Reggie White Sleep Disorders Research and Education Foundation has provided MHSI staff with the SleepStrip®, an at-home sleep apnea screening tool, so that MHSI doctors can prescribe its use for any patients whose condition warrants it.

To, date, the Foundation has awarded educational scholarships to LaToya Tharpe of Milwaukee and Lorenzo Williams, also of Milwaukee, funding their participation in sleep technologist training accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.

The Foundation works closely with the Sleep Wellness Institute, which is Wisconsin’s oldest and largest independent sleep disorders center.

The Foundation welcomes the participation of other groups, as well.
